Guy's Guide to Buying Flowers
We have written this guide for all of you men out there who have walked into a flower shop and become paralyzed. We've seen it many times - you walk into the shop, go directly to the cooler with purpose and confidence only to stop dead when faced with the wide array of choices before you. Or worse yet, you just don't buy flowers for that special person in your life because you're not sure what to do. For those of you who regularly buy flowers and enjoy doing it, bravo! For those of you who don't, the following is for you.
Most women feel that the man in their life doesn't give them flowers as often as they'd like. Most men underestimate the mileage they would get from giving a simple bouquet for no reason. Size doesn't matter:"just because" flowers don't have to be elaborate. Whether it's a single bloom with lovely wrapping or a large bouquet, we're happy that you were thinking of us and took the time to let us know.
Roses are beautiful, but most women have received them many times in the past. Stand out from the crowd and try something different. Most women like lilies, tulips, or orchids - a mass of these in a simple arrangement will probably be less expensive for you and appreciated more by her. If you really want to send roses, order them in a boxed presentation, or add a special wrapping treatment to keep them from being boring. If you're not sure what her color or style preferences are, look to her wardrobe and how she decorates her home to give you clues as to what she favors. If she ever mentions her favorite flower or color, take note - you're being given a gift here.
A note on sending flowers to us at work - we love it. We love the attention from you, and from our co-workers who will be green with envy. Surprise her by sending a bouquet to her at work and see how much attention you'll get because of the attention she got.
